There’s something about this time of year…
No, not the weather bouncing back and forth like you’re a dink expert in pickleball. Ya tired. Students are tired. Everybody’s running on fumes and leftover pretzel crumbs from your desk drawer.
But in the middle of all that…there’s something easy to miss: You just got a year with them. Not just content. Not just standards. But actual humans. Stories in progress. And here’s the wild part…
You might not be the title of a chapter in their story. You might not even get mentioned when they cross their next finish line.
But you could be a sentence.
A comment that shifted something.
The moment that quietly said, “yo fam…you’re capable.”
And that’s not small. That’s legacy type stuff. Because teaching isn’t always about running the whole race. Sometimes it’s about handing off the baton: clean, steady, right on time.
You might not see them win. But you helped them run better. So here’s my challenge: Take one minute today. Close your eyes. Think to yourself:
