TL;DR

Moving is the Worst

Things that are the worst:

  • Early 2000s CGI

  • Gas Station Bathrooms

  • Moving to a new house

I am currently in the midst of the last one. It’s about as fun as hearing a timeshare pitch on a weekend.

You ever had a garage sale before you move?

Yeah, they’re funnnnnnnn.

One of the things I was thinking about while I was selling all the clutter we’ve accumulated over the years for 2% of what we bought it for, it made me think of all the wasted fluff that we do as teachers.

How often do we waste time on stuff we’ll never search our Google Drive for?

Well, stop doing it.

If it’s not required, and you don’t use it, and it doesn’t make things better…stop it.

If your only reason for doing something is because that’s what you did last year, then that’s not a good enough reason.

Stop doing stuff that you don’t need to.

Save time. Drop it.

I’m not your boss, but I give you permission.

Spend time on stuff that matters.

Or if you’re off the clock, spend time doing what gives you peace and/or energy.

It’ll make the other stuff better in the process.

Never stop learning.
