🎓 a few weeks in…don’t quit yet 😂🥲

⏰ TL;DR

👋 REAL TALK

If you’re a few weeks into the year and thinking, “Yep, that new lil routine is already falling apart like Playdough under a waterdall,” don’t panic, that’s normal!

Research backs it up:

  • About 23% of people quit a New Year’s resolution in the first week

  • By two weeks, nearly half are done

  • By mid-February, only ~9% stick with it

That’s not a character flaw, that’s being a human being.

One thing I’ve learned (the hard way, more than once (or twice)): you don’t quit because you failed, you quit because you stopped restarting.

Whether it was working out, daily reading, or a classroom routine ya boi swore I’d keep consistent, progress only happens when I picked it back up without making it dramatic.

In the words of the generational poet, Fergi: No drama no no drama no no no no drama.

So if there’s one small thing you care about, for your students or for yourself, today’s a great day to restart.

No countdown.

No guilt.

No no no drama.

📥 THE DROP

🧩 Free Resource of the Week - Digital Student Planner w/Habit Tracker

This lil habit tracker digital notebook is one of my favs for the semester because it helps students:

  • Build consistency without pressure

  • Reflect on small wins

  • Take ownership of habits that actually matter to them

And here’s the secret, you don’t need January 1 to start!

Habits work when students decide they matter, not when the calendar says so.

This is a great “anytime reset” tool you can roll out tomorrow if you want no pressure okay i love you!

🛠️ Tech Tip

📚 Just a reminder YOU SHOULD BE USING BRISK IT’S AMAZING!

Brisk is one of those tools that quietly saves you hours and I just wanted to remind you you’re not living right if you’re not using it!

A few things I use it for constantly:

  • Turn notes into Google Slides presentations

  • Create Google Forms autograding quizzes from existing slides

  • Give fast, meaningful feedback on student writing!

It’s practical, it works inside tools you already use, and it cuts down the busywork. Best of all, it’s super easy to use and super free for nearly everything you’ll need!
